From our President

Blake Burnstine:

One Goal That You Have For The Rest Of The Year?

As we enter the fall of 2021, one goal that I have for our chapter is to become better connected with our alumni. As such an incredibly well-recognized organization, Kappa has the unique opportunity and ability to connect our active members with Kappa alumni from around the world. With improved connections, alumni can be an incredible resource for networking professionally, academically, and even to connect socially! I believe our chapter can implement a system complete with a greater alumni Facebook group, a LinkedIn page, more frequent newsletters, and an alumni event to welcome our sisters back to their home on North Henry. I am looking forward to creating an environment where we can continue to keep in touch with our amazing alumni!

What Has Made Eta Chapters Exec Board 2021 Successful Thus Far?

I truly cannot express my gratitude to our 2021 executive board. Each and every member of our board has worked tirelessly through these unprecedented times to keep our members involved. We have persevered with a smile through each challenge that we have come across, seeking out new and creative ways to overcome this plethora of obstacles. I believe the struggles we have faced have ultimately led to our success as a team, and therefore as a chapter. Primarily, I’ve watched our team grow and excel as communicators. We have learned the best means to communicate with each other, ensuring that we have each other’s back at all costs. Whether it be public relations making incredible graphics for our philanthropy, finance and senior experience going out of their way for our seniors, or standards being my best right-hand man, we have all stepped out of our comfort zones and gone above and beyond in our positions to help each other out. Although we had to meet on zoom for most of the semester, I knew I could count on my girls for each and every executive board meeting as well as chapter-wide meetings. We are so lucky to have the incredible team of 20 sisters that we have and can fall back on at any given moment. I am the proudest president I could possibly be, and cannot wait to see what next semester has in store for us.
